Hey everyone, I’m excited to announce that a couple of fellow fans and I, all with a shared passion for the OG Carpenter saga of The Shape, are working on a project to rewrite the drafts originally written by Todd Farmer & Patrick Lussier for a third sequel to Rob Zombie's Halloween.
Our main goals for this rewrite are:
Rewriting the original "Halloween 3D" drafts. Most importantly remove any relation to 3D effects since it's so outdated now. Other edits would involve reshaping the plot to work with what we got in mind.
Fixing the issues in RZH2. We don’t plan to rewrite the whole thing although it needs to, but we want to address some of the major plot points that have divided the fanbase till now and match it to what the fans would like to expect as a conclusion to that story, and not just some white unicorn delusional... teenager goth girl in a hospital or asylum or whatever. It's not the worst thing, fortunately. It lacks clarifications and the story itself is a swarm of plot holes.
Bringing back Carpenter's Myers. Pretty much making the brute that Tyler Mane mastered in the previous two more like Carpenter's vision of Michael Myers but with the same grit and aggression. More of a stalking (ALWAYS MASKED) figure in the shadows on Halloween nights, rather than being a hobo troublemaker who mostly aims for s*x addicts in the movies.
Connecting the plot to previous and future entries. We want to link the storyline to other characters and themes from the Halloween universe, from both old and even future entries since 2009, some of the suggested themes we might delve into could roam around Thorn, or maybe even introduce old characters like Jamie, Rachel, Sheriff Barker, The Man in Black from Halloween 5 , Allyson, etc...
Casting. A cool idea would be to guess or suggest the cast, or recast, to see who'd play roles better. Ideas could be like Gary Oldman, who'd nail the role of a Detective looking into what really happened in the shed back in RZH2's ending. And maybe even playing the spiritual role of Dr. Loomis which was lost in RZH2.
We ain't expecting Blumhouse or even John Carpenter to take notice, but this is more about showing that even if a project seemed to be doomed to failure, a bit of attention towards fan advice, passion, and input (or more likely fan service) isn’t always a bad thing.
